HERKIMER Ada E. Helmer-Miller, age 81, of Eastern Avenue passed away on Sunday Morning, July 22, 2012 in her home. She had the comfort of her family being at her side at the time of her passing. Ada was born June 1, 1931 in Herkimer a daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel Nelson Helmer. She was raised and educated in Herkimer. On July 24, 1954 she married Paul C. Bing Miller in Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer a loving union of 43 years until his passing on October 18, 1997. For many years Ada was a clerk at F.W. Woolworth Store in Herkimer. She enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, solving Word Jumbles and being with her family, especially, spending time with her grandson Ryan. She was a friend to many, she will be greatly missed. Surviving her are a son Paul Miller of Herkimer, three daughters; Anna Miller of Herkimer, Paula Riley and her husband Kevin of East Herkimer, Sharon Miller of Herkimer, a sister Ida Fuller of Little Falls, a grandson Ryan Riley of East Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Paul she was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Ralph Helmer, two sisters Sarah Lowell and Jessie Agnew. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The family would like to thank Dr. Butala and his staff and the nurses of Hospice and Palliative care for their compassion and care that was shown to Ada.
