ILION-Albert J. Morrisette age 91 of Sixth Avenue entered into eternal rest on Saturday afternoon April 5, 2003 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. He was born on November 28, 1911 in Newport, son of the late Felix and Doris Morrisette. A lifelong Ilion resident he was educated in Ilion Schools. On October 18, 1941 he married Evelyn Adams in Ilion. A loving union of fifty-five years she preceded him in death in 1997. For thirty-five years Mr. Morrisette was employed by the Remington Arms Company, retiring in 1975. He had a strong belief in God and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Ilion. He was a member of the Remington Arms 25 Year Club. Albert loved the outdoors and nature. Much of his leisure time was spent gardening, fishing and camping. He will be greatly missed by many especially his family. Surviving are a daughter; Nancy and her husband Albert Young of Ilion, one son Gary and his wife Diane Morrisette of Oswego, four grandchildren Michael and Julie Morrisette, Lori Miazga and Kimberly Young, two great grandchildren; Jennifer and Tyler Miazga, one sister; Mae Hyrup of Saranac, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Evelyn he was predeceased by fourteen siblings. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday day at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Victor McKusick, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church Ilion will officiate. Mr. Morrisette will be laid to rest in Armory Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
