NAPLES, Fla. Alice Goodale Dent, of Naples, Fla., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Dec. 12, 2013 at the age of 90.
She was born in Richfield Springs to Roger and Mabel (Baltzell) Goodale, one of 13 children. She was preceded in death in 1980 by her husband of 31 years, William F. Dent, a World War II vet and recipient of a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and 10 of her 12 siblings.
She is survived by her five children, Connie (Jack) Stanley, of Port Charlotte Fla., Marjorie Dent, of Richfield Springs, William Dent, Jr., of Valley Cottage, Gerry (Mark) Johnson, of Kernersville, N.C., and Ginger (Jimmy) Packman, of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, in addition to her dear sister, Ginger Fassett, of Port Orange, Fla.; and her brother, Roger Goodale, of Barstow, Calif.
She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp. graduating from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy as a registered nurse. She received her B.A. in health education while raising her five children and became a school nurse and health educator at Suffern Junior High School before moving to Naples, Fla., where she continued her nursing career as an assistant director of nursing.
In retirement she was active in community service using her nursing skills.
There will be a memorial serviceon Saturday, April 19th in the Church of Church Uniting at 1:00 p.m.
