Obituary

MOHAWK-Allston A. McCoy Jay age 76 of Kingdom Road, entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening April 13, 2003 in Little Falls Hospital with the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on September 1, 1926 in Ilion, son of the late Allston A. and Alma E. Fallon. A lifelong area resident he was educated in both Ilion and Herkimer Schools. On July 23, 1948 he married Eunice Brown in the family home, town of Columbia. For thirty-seven years he owned and operated the McCoy Dairy-Homestead. He retired in 1982. Allston had a strong belief in God, he was a member of the Richfield Springs Bible Church where he served as Elder and sang in the church choir. A member of the Gideons International both local and state he served as North East area Coordinator. His other activities included the Eastern Milk Producers where he was a past president. He enjoyed bowling and bowled with both the Mohawk Businessmen League and the Herkimer Businessmen League. Allston will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person. He will be missed by many especially his family. Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years Eunice, two sons; the Reverend David McCoy and his wife Christine of Whitesboro, Robert McCoy of Little Falls, two daughters and their husbands; Mary Ann and the Reverend Roger White of Machias, Nancy and the Reverend Doug Weygand of Lebanon, PA, a brother; Robert McCoy of Ilion, three sisters; Barbara McCoy of Dolgeville, Virginia Shaw of Frankfort, Theresa Foster of Ilion, a daughter-in-law; Loree Gallagher of Mohawk, eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son William McCoy in 1986, a brother Arthur McCoy, two sisters; Marion Warlock and Esther Dubraba. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church, Little Falls. The Reverend Donald Dixon, Pastor will officiate. Mr. McCoy will be laid to rest in the Dennison Corners Cemetery at a time convenient to the family. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening form 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gideons International or the Little Falls Hospital Development Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
