VALATIE – formerly of Herkimer – Amanda Nicole Foster age 43, passed away, suddenly on Monday December 4, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1979, in Herkimer, a daughter of Patricia (Wilke) Foster and the late David E. Foster. Raised and educated in Herkimer, she graduated from Herkimer High School and completed 2 years at MVCC. Amanda enjoyed the simple things in life. Caring for people and making them smile were gifts she shared with those she loved. If you were having a sad day a 'Hug" from Amanda would brighten your day. She found much joy singing in the church choir, baking, caring for her beloved cat 'dasher' and Kaysar the little Pomeranian dog, and especially the shopping trips with her mom. Family and time spent with them were memories she always cherished. She will be sadly missed. Amanda is survived by her mother Patricia, a son Ethan, a brother Jonathon Foster of Anchorage, Alaska, a sister Sarah Thomes and her husband Bob, grandparents Larry and Sally Wilke, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc, 115 Court Street, Herkimer, on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of the funeral at 1:00pm to respectfully greet friends and family. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will take place next spring at a time to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Herkimer Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407.
