Andrew Madaras SCHUYLERLAKE-Andrew Madaras, 74, of Main Street died on Sunday morning, November 12,2000 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse.He was born on January 16, 1926 in the Town of Richfield, sonof the late Constantine and Mary Hyrnko Madaras. A lifelong area resident he wasa graduate of Richfield Springs High School. During World War II he served withthe US Air Force 30th Bomb Squadron in Japan. He was honorablydischarged with the rank of Corporal on January 28, 1949. Since 1961 he hasresided in Schuyler Lake. On January 14, 1970 he married Starr Hext in the FirstUnited Methodist Church Herkimer. The Reverend Merle Brown officiated. For thirty-threeyears he worked as an inspector for the Chicago Pneumatic Company, Utica. He wasa member of Sts. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, East Herkimer, and theSchuyler Lake Lodge #162 F&AM. Surviving besides his loving wife of thirty years Starr aretwo sons, Andrew Madaras and his wife Melisa, Brant Madaras and his fianceCarol all of Richfield Springs; three brothers, Michael Madaras of Utica, Harryand his wife Beatty Madaras of Saquoit, Frank and his wife Elenor Madaras ofRichfield Springs; a sister, Eva Edick of Ilion; one granddaughter, JamieMadaras; two step-grandchildren, Manda and Nicole (Jenske) Scanlon, severalnieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by twobrothers, John and Daniel Madaras; four sisters, Anna Knowles, Marta Brelinsky,Olga Nickoles and Mary French. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in Sts.Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, East Herkimer, with the Very Reverend James M.Jadick officiating. Interment will follow in Schuyler Lake Cemetery. The familywill be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street,Richfield Springs to receive relatives and friends Tuesday evening 7:00 to 9:00PM. Parastas will be said at 8:00 PM that evening. Memorial donations may be made to the Sts. Peter & PaulOrthodox Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
