RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Andrew Senko age 79 of Walnut Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening November 18, 2012 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on September 19, 1933 in South Columbia, son of the late Phillip and Pauline Papatch Senko.A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, he graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1952. On July 23, 1960 he was united in marriage with the former Kathryn Littlejohn in Sidney. They have resided in Richfield Springs since. Andrew first worked for the Standard Furniture Company in Herkimer.He then went on to work as a machinist for the Chicago Pneumatic Company in Utica. He retired in 1990.For a short time he was in business locally with his two brothers and brother-in-law. Together they made and sold Anns Potato Chips in the Richfield Springs area.To all who knew him he was an honest, hardworking and sincere man. He enjoyed being with his many friends and family especially, his eight cherished grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-two years Kathryn, two sons James Senko and his wife Donna of Miller Mills, Robert Senko of Schenectady, three daughters, Marilyn Sas and her husband Serhiy of Schuyler Lake, Janet Calvarese and her husband Edward of Lakeport, Linda Senko and her fianc William Clark of Herkimer, two brothers, William Senko of Herkimer, John Senko and his wife Ruth of Ilion, eight grandchildren, Ryan, Jeremy, Kathryn, Kailey, Kristen, Paul, Hunter and Jacob, several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Mamrosh and three sisters, Helen, Ann and Olga. Calling hours for Mr. Senko will be on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. A funeral service will follow immediately after in the funeral home with the Reverend David Tosi, Pastor of the Richfield Springs Bible Church and the Reverend Alan Miller officiating.Interment will take place at 9:30 am on Saturday in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Richfield Springs Volunteer Emergency Squad.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
