Obituary

EAST SPRINGFIELD - Anna Baker, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon May 25, 2008 in the Masonic Care Community, Utica. Anna was born January 29, 1926 in Patterson, NJ, daughter of the late Orie and Clara Greydanus Pruiksma. She was raised and educated in Patterson, NJ. On June 21, 1949 she united in marriage with Gus Baker in Goshen. They shared a loving and devoted union of forty-one years until his passing in March of 1991. At one time Anna and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Westtown. She was a member of the Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Richfield Springs To all who knew her she was a homemaker whose husband and children were first and foremost. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving her are four sons and their wives; John and Jamie Baker of VanHornesville, Orie and Peggy Baker of East Springfield, Alan and June Baker of Monticello, Gus, Jr. and Tracy Baker of East Springfield, two daughters Kathy Harper and her husband James of East Springfield, Ann Sikkema and her husband John of Pheonix, AZ, a sister Agnes Yeoman of Warwick, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Gus she was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Pruiksma. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Pastor Samuel Neal of the Richfield Springs Trinity Christian Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Springfield Center Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Masonic Care Community. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
