HERKIMER-Anna F. Caswell age78 formerly of Goodell Avenue entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning October 9, 2003 in Valley Health Services Inc. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on July 18, 1925 in Herkimer daughter of the late Charles and Cora Parker Abeline. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was educated in Herkimer public schools. For twenty years Anna was a sewing machine operator with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union working for Duofold and Joy Taylor.
She had a strong belief in God was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church Herkimer. To all that knew her they will remember her warm outgoing manner along with a genuine care for others. To her family she was the one who would listen to you when you were troubled. Anna was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Richard Aubin of Umatilla, FL, Jennie and Ray Pettingill of Ilion, a sister-in-law, Shirley Abeline of Ilion, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl John Buster Abeline, Bill Abeline, Charles Bunky Abeline and a sister, Margaret LaFountain.
Funeral from Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Saturday at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday (today) from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
