WEST WINFIELD - Anna Adelaide Smith age 92 formerly of State Highway # 51, passed away on Monday afternoon April 14, 2014 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home.
She was born on January 27, 1922 in the town of Columbia, daughter of the late Fred E. and Grace Mary Tarbox Smith.A lifelong area resident she was raised and educated in Columbia Center. For thirty-seven years Anna worked as an assembler for UNIVAC in Ilion. She retired in 1987.
In her younger years she had a strong love for the outdoors and was an avid snowmobiler.For a number of years she had her own business, Moto-Ski-Snowmobiles located on State Route Highway # 51 in West Winfield. To all who knew her, she was a fun loving, caring and helpful lady with an unforgettable smile. She will be greatly missed
She is survived by a special nephew Fred G. Treen and his wife Jean of West Winfield, her dear companion Harry Harter along with several other nieces and nephews.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Smith, and three sisters, Grace Skinner, Dorothy Gates and Ruth Treen.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday April 21st at 2:00 pm in the Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, town of Columbia. The Reverend Alan Miller will officiate.Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
