LITTLE FALLS / SYRACUSE Anne (Savasky) Slive, died on Monday, May 22, 2006, in Little Falls Hospital at the age of 102.
She was born in Syracuse, on September 1, 1903. She lived almost her entire life in Syracuse and was married to Benjamin Slive in Syracuse on March 19, 1947. They lived there happily together for fifty-four years until Bens death in March of 2001. She was the last surviving child of Goldie and Frank Savasky, who immigrated to America from Eastern Europe . Her predeceased siblings were Leonard Savasky, Lillian Savasky Feinstein, Samuel Savasky and Rose Savasky Aberson.
She is survived by her niece, Jeanne Aberson Castle of Little Falls, and a nephew, Robert Savasky of Newport Beach , CA . She also leaves behind twelve great nieces and nephews and fifteen great-great nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of the Congregation Ahavath Achim in Syracuse and was a past President of its Sisterhood.
Anne, or Aunt Annie, as she was better known, devoted her life to her family and loved to cook from scratch Jewish specialties such as kreplach, knishes, and gefilte fish. Aunt Annie enjoyed attending family functions and did so on a regular basis until her health recently began to fail. For the passed two years she resided in the nursing home facility on the fourth floor of the Little Falls Hospital, where she enjoyed a lively relationship with the staff. She will be dearly missed and remembered forever.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Ahavath Achim Mikvah Jewish Cemetery, Jamesville Avenue, Syracuse .
