RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Annemarie Kitts, 80, passed away on Good Friday, April 10, 2020 at the A.O. Fox Nursing home in Oneonta. She was born on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940 in Yonkers, to Cletus Allen Kitts and Catherine Burke Kitts. After graduating from Elizabeth Seton Academy in Yonkers, Annemarie earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education at LadycliffCollege, in Highland Falls, before completing her masters in English at Fordham University in the Bronx. Annemarie taught at the St. Peter's School as well as in the Yonkers Public School system. In the 1970s Annemarie moved, with her parents, to Richfield Springs, where she lived until she entered the Fox Nursing home in 2009. She was an active member of the St. Joseph the Worker Parish community, where she taught Sunday school, was a lector and served on several parish organizations. Annemarie was an avid reader and writer and later remained active at the nursing home, playing Bingo and helping to organize and lead center activities. She is survived by her brother, William Kitts and family of Derry, NH, two nieces and two nephews, cousin, Barb Shypski and family of Richfield Springs, NY and many cousins, including one, Chelsea, who held a special place in her heart.
