Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS Anthony Guidicipietro, age 93 pased away peacefully on Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on March 22, 1924 in Brooklyn, son of the late Michael and Marie Rechia Guidicipietro. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country durning WW II. He was honorably dicharged on July 12, 1946 attaining the rank of Seaman First Class. In 1948 he met the love of his life, Anna A. Guarino. They were married on June 4, 1950 and had shared a loving and devoted union of sixty-seven years. For over 20 years he worked as a truck driver in Brooklyn for Silver Star Ravioli Products, retiring in 1986. It was then they moved from Brooklyn to Monticello, then Delhi and to Richfield Springs in 2005. Anthony was always a hard working, proud man, who would do anything for his family. He will be remembered as a friendly, outgoing person who truly enjoyed people. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family expecially his beloved grandchildren and cherished great-grandchildren. Surviving are his devoted wife Anna, one son, Michael Guidicipietro and his wife Christina, of Horton- ville, two daughters Cynthis Anne Bertolotti and her husband John of Columbia, MD, Carmela Chiodo and her husband Frank of Richfield Springs, seven grandchildren, Michelle (Eugene), Anthony, Christy (Danny), Louis Anthony (Haley), Francesco Nicholas and Brad Joseph, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by eleven siblings, and a granddaughter Annmarie Dora Chiodo. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11:00am in St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs with Father Silvaster Sarihadula, Pastor officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the US Navy will follow in St. Jospeh Cemetery, Richfield Spring. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00 7:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Albany VA Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Calling Hours J.
