RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Antonina Theresa Steckler, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in Community Hospital, Hamilton.She was born on Oct. 16, 1911, in Yonkers. Raised and educated in the Ukraine, she returned to the United States when she was nineteen. On March 14, 1937 she married Harry Steckler in Yonkers. A loving and devoted union of 49 years until his passing on Oct. 28, 1987. Coming from Yonkers, she and her husband moved to Richfield Springs in 1946, when they purchased the Monticello Hotel. She continued to operate the hotel until 1989.Surviving are her son Michael and his wife Judith of Zephyrhills Fla.; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.Besides her husband, and siblings, she was preceded in death by a son, Victor, and a daughter, Sandra.Funeral service will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Herkimer. The Rev. James Jadick, pastor, will officiate. Interment in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery will take place later this spring. The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs, to receive relatives and friends on Sunday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. Parastas will be held in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.Memorial donations may be made to an area hospice of your choice
