RICHFIELD SPRINGS Arlene J. Burnside, age 84, of US Highway 20, passed away on Saturday afternoon December 22, 2018 in her home. She had comfort of her family by her side at the time of her passing. She was born on June 14, 1934 in Cooperstown, a daughter to the late Ward C. and Dorothy M. Sheridan Fish. Raised and educated in Richfield, she graduated from Richfield Springs High School. For over thirty years she was an assembler of electronic components for General Electric in Utica then later in New Hartford, she retired in 1996. On December 14, 1976 she married David Burnside in Richfield Springs. Arlene was one who enjoyed shopping and home decorating, she loved to be with her family and her adopted family. Her greatest legacy she leaves behind, her spoiled cat. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. Besides her husband David of forty two years she is survived by her adopted daughter Sheila Brooker and her husband Dennis of Schuyler Lake and their daughter Holly McLean and her husband Chad of Schuyler Lake and their daughter Belle McLean and son Trenton McLean, two sisters Lois Cursh of Richfield Springs, Jean Corso and her husband Anthony of Richfield Springs, two special nieces Sonja Cursh and her fianc John of Richfield Springs, Leicia Kilts and her husband Timothy of Milford as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers Ward and Winston Fish. Calling hours for Mrs. Burnside will take place on Friday January 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs a funeral service to follow calling hours at 7:00 pm with the Pastor Alan Miller to officiate.
