Arthur Robert Russello, age 65, of Richfield Springs, formerly of Long Island, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He was born on June 20, 1951 in Hicksville Long Island, a son of the late Emmanuel and Dorothy Schaffer Russello. He graduated high school and went to work for the Newsday paper where for over twenty-five years he was the District Manager. He retired in 1995 and moved to Richfield Springs in 1997. A diehard Yankee Fan, he also enjoyed the outdoors, especially tending his vegetable garden, listening to rock and rock, watching Christmas movies and spending time with his grandchildren. Arthur will be remembered as a quiet, caring man with an unforgettable smile. He will be missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his children, Donna Gingrich and her husband Brent, Joseph Russello, Jennifer Russello and Tara Russello all of Long Island, companion and soulmate of twenty five years, Diana Weiss and her children, Michael OSullivan of Albany, Jamie Brummel and her husband Eric of Chicago. IL, and Kevin Weiss of Port Richey, FL, a brother, Kenneth Russello of Tucson, AZ, a sister, Lisa Cordi of Long Island, seven grandchildren, and a nephew. He was adored by them all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 11, at 1:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Reverend Silvaster, Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs, will officiate. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
