HERKIMER-Audrey L. Smith age 73 of Nathan Galinsky Apartments peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, January 15, 2005 in her home. She was born July 21, 1931, in Ossining, daughter of the late Russell and Marie Franzen Roberts. A lifelong area resident, she was raised and educated in Canajoharie. Mrs. Smith has resided in Herkimer all of her adult life. She had worked for Herkimer Memorial Hospital, MDS and Friendly's, retiring in 1990. She had a strong belief in God and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer, and of the Evening Star Valley Chapter 82 of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her leisure time, she enjoyed soap operas and was a dedicated member of the Ronnie Smith Fan Club. Audrey will always be remembered as a loving and caring person. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her family. Audrey at one time was married to Wilfred Willie Smith and from that union came two loving children a son Robert A. Smith of Mohawk and a daughter Cheryl A. Smith of Austin, TX. She is also survived by one sister Dorothy and her husband Delos Frazier of Sprakers, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery later this spring. Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department or the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
