LEWIS CENTER, OH - Barbara Ann Bloomfield, (nee: Anderson) age 60, formerly of Ilion passed away from cancer on August 11, 2014 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, OH. She had her loving children by her side. Barbara was born on April 11, 1954 in Herkimer a daughter of Joy (Foster) Anderson and the late Charles Anderson. She graduated from Richfield Springs Central School in 1972, where she attended the BOCES program for nursing. On November 11, 1974, Barbara was united in marriage to Allen Bloomfield in Cherry Valley. They later moved to Ilion and spent most of their lives there, raising three children. Mr. Bloomfield preceded her in death on January 5, 2012. Barbara worked as a nurse at Mohawk Valley General Hospital, then spent most of her career in the Special Care Unit and Cath Lab at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, retiring in the mid-2000's when she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, yard work, and most of all being with her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her three children: Matthew Bloomfield of Bessemer City, NC, Kelley Barnes and spouse Brian of Wake Forest, NC, and Kimberly Hostutler and spouse Roger of Lewis Center, OH; five grandchildren: Megan Bloomfield, Abigail and Shawn Barnes, and Isabella and Zachary Hostutler; her mother Joy Anderson and siblings: Frank Anderson, Kenny Anderson, Carol Barca, Earl Anderson, Ray Anderson and Martha Maine and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Anderson, husband Allen, and brother Herman Anderson. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Eugene Kipper officiating.
