HERKIMER-Barbara Jean Fineout age 91 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning January 18, 2018 in Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Little Falls. She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side. Barbara was born on January 22, 1926 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Timothy and Anna Mae Weakley Ray. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Fineout in St. Francis deSales Church Herkimer. They shared a loving and devoted union of fifty-four years until his passing on July 19, 2002. For many years Mrs. Fineout worked in the packing department at Duofold in Mohawk. She retired in 1988. In her leisure time Barbara enjoyed playing Bingo. Her happiest times were spent with her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Surviving her are one son, Wayne E. and his wife Julie Ann of Oppenheim, a daughter Deborah Ann Walter and her husband Douglas of Gates, four grandchildren, Danielle Marie Montayne of Rotterdam, Jason Robert Walter and his wife Lindsay of Rushville, Melissa Anne Anderson and her husband Robert of Chilie, Amanda Sue Ingalls and her husband Thomas of Irondequoit, nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Robert she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, William, Richard and Robert Ray, two sisters, Marge Chidester and Eleanor Fineout. A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Fineout will take place later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery at a time to be announced. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
