Obituary

HERKIMER-Barbara Jean Keiser age 65 of Steuben Hill Road passed away on Monday morning February 18, 2013 in Faxton-Saint Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She had the comfort of her loving husband at her side. She was born on October 23, 1947 in San Angelo, TX, daughter of the late William S. and Dorothy D. Bruton Arnold. Raised in a military family she received her education in Germany as well as stateside graduating from San Angelo high school. Barbara furthered her education at San Angelo State College. On April 15, 1976 she was united in marriage with John F. Keiser in Houston, TX. They have made their home in Herkimer since June of 2000 coming here from Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In her leisure time Barbara enjoyed crafts. She was naturally gifted at working with clay and sketching. She wrote poetry and with a keen eye for color loved to redecorate her home. Her travels to care for family and share in their life triumphs are treasured memories they will cherish forever. To all who knew her they will never forget her warm, friendly manner and her unforgettable smile. She will be truly missed. Surviving are her devoted husband of thirty-six years John, a brother, William Bill Arnold and his wife Michelle of Fairbanks, Alaska, two sisters and their husbands, Suzanne Susie and Michael Bartniski of Houston, TX, Vina and Tony Dorff of Spring Creek, NV, three nieces, Audra Dorff, Tina Baugh and Charlene Nyhart, one nephew, Parker Dorff. Funeral service for Mrs. Keiser will take place on Saturday morning at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. The Reverend Ann Zimmerman, Pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer will officiate.
