HERKIMER - Beecher W. Hart, 90, of 104 N. Washington St., formerly of 315 N. Prospect St., passed away Tuesday evening, July 10, 2001, in Folts Homes with his family by his bedside. He was born April 13, 1911, in Herkimer, son of the late Henry Ward Beecher and Elsie H. Krause Hart. A lifelong Herkimer resident he was educated in Herkimer schools. For 30 years he was employed by Univac, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer, a 40-year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Mohawk and a member of the German Maennerchor in Herkimer. In his leisure time he loved to play cards, especially Pitch. Surviving him are two brothers and their wives, Ronald and Mary Hart of Auburn and Donald and Patricia Hart of Schenectady; two sisters, Ruth Miller of Herkimer and Marjorie Lowther of East Herkimer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Beecher was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hart in 1936 and Henry Hart in 1981. Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. The Rev. Persis Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday, two hours prior to the funeral service (noon to 2 p.m.). Memorial donations may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
