MOHAWK-Bertron Reynolds 87 of State Highway # 168, passed away on Monday morning December 4, 2000 in Folts Homes, Herkimer with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on March 1, 1913 in Mayfield, son of the late Frank and Eliza Hoffman Reynolds. Bert was educated in the Fish House School in Sacandagua. It was on September 6, 1937 that he married his beloved wife Margaret in the Parsonage of the Jordanville Church. He and his family have resided in Mohawk since 1950, coming from Ilion. Throughout his life he had worked as a Tenant Farmer, owned and operated a trucking company and did Black Top Paving. For twenty-seven years he worked for UNIVAC retiring in 1972. His leisure time was spent hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving besides his wife of sixty-three years Margaret are three sons; Richard and his wife Judy Reynolds of Brookville, FL, Robert Reynolds of Ilion, Raymond and his wife Brenda Reynolds of Mohawk, four daughters; Beverly Liddle, Barbara Gage, Joyce and her husband Gordon Roberts, Janice and Thomas Mayton all of Mohawk, two sisters-in-law; Anna Reynolds of Mohawk, Anna Reynolds of Richfield, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins, two special friends Harold Miller and John Ramsey.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Millicent Cosselman and Hazel Price, four brothers; Marvin, Hiram, Henry and Ralph Reynolds, a son-in-law; DeForrest Liddle and a great granddaughter Katelyn Reynolds.
Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend William Harkins pastor of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs will officiate. Interment in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls will be next spring. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
Mr. Reynolds family would like to thank the VanHornesville Volunteer Fire Department, Dr. Ramachander Nanduri and the staff of Folts Homes for their care and compassion during his illness. Memorial donations may be made to the VanHornesville Volunteer Fire Department or the Folts Homes, Herkimer. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
