HARWICH, Mass. Beryl Frances Sanderson, 91, formerly of East Herkimer.It is with great sadness that the family of Beryl Sanderson announces her passing on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Epoch Senior Healthcare of Harwich, Mass. She was born on Sept. 22, 1916, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Floyd and Frances Anna Walrad Locklin. Beryl was raised in Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On Feb. 12, 1937, she united in marriage with Bradford E. Sanderson in Herkimer. They later welcomed son, Jerry Sanderson, who passed away in 1970 and a daughter, Linda Caswell. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren followed and filled her life with pride.Beryl was a strong-willed independent woman who married, raised a family and worked a variety of part-time jobs. In addition to her family, friends and pets, she enjoyed reading, writing poetry, decorating, flower arranging, playing cards, visiting Cape Cod, yard selling, collecting bears and feeding and rescuing the wildlife that entered her yard and home.Her creativity, generosity and humor will be missed by all who benefited from her love and attention.A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David Kirkpatrick, officiating.There are no calling hours.Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Alzheimers Association (http://www.alz.org) or a local animal shelter.
