FRANKFORT - Beverly J. Wood, age 68, of Streamside Manor entered into eternal rest on Wednesday night, May 26, 2004 in her home after a brief illness. She was born on May 31, 1935 in Mohawk, daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice Kane Payne. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Frankfort High School. For fifteen years she worked as a secretary for the General Electric Company in Utica. Mrs. Wood had resided in Frankfort since 1960 coming from Schuyler. She had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life. She was a member of Our lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. In her leisure time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Beverly was happiest when she was surrounded by her friends and family, especially her two granddaughters. Surviving are one son, Dennis Wood and his wife, Adele Fine of Rochester; a sister, Barbara Massey of Schuyler, two granddaughters, Oliva Wood of Rochester, Kaye Nagel-Wood of Miami, FL; one niece and two nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Wood in 1989. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.
