EAST SPRINGFIELD - Bonnie Wannamaker age 55 of County Highway # 31, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday morning July 13, 2010 in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on May 18, 1955 in Cooperstown, daughter of Gert Judson Spraker and the late Reed Spraker. A life long Springfield resident, she was a graduate of Springfield High School. On September 22, 1973 she was united in marriage with Peter Victor Wannamaker in Saint Marys Episcopal Church, Springfield. They shared a loving and devoted union of 13 years until his passing in 1986.
For the past ten years Bonnie was employed by the Wal-Mart Warehouse in Sharon Springs.
In her leisure time she enjoyed summer camping with her family at Darien Lake. She also loved to go shopping, especially at her favorite holiday season, Christmas. To all who knew her they will remember a hard working, caring, loving and hopeful person. Bonnie was the one that her family could depend on to be there for them in good times and bad. She will be greatly missed by everyone, especially her two cherished grandchildren.
Surviving are one son Gary Wannamaker of East Springfield, three daughters, Michelle Wannamaker of East Springfield, Kelly Decker of Springfield Center, Lisa Wannamaker of East Springfield, her adopted son, Justin Thalheimer of Roseboom, a brother Robert Spraker and his wife Janet of Warren, one sister Teri Forbes of Springfield, one aunt, Jenny Armstrong of Springfield, her two grandchildren, Kyrah and Camden Decker, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will take place on Friday at 4:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. The Reverend Alan Miller, Pastor of the Richfield Springs Bible Church will officiate. Interment will be in Springfield Center Cemetery at a later date. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday two hours prior to the funeral service (2:00 to 4:00 pm). Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Catskill Area Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
