MOHAWK-Carol Caccavalla age 70 of Robinson Road passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon April 24, 2010 in the Siegenthaler Center, New Hartford. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on January 8, 1940 in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Wadenpfuhl Ciaccio. Carol was raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Franklin K. Lane High School. For twenty years she worked as a sales commission person for the Sears Company in Lake Grove Long Island retiring in 2002. In 2004 she moved to Mohawk coming from Bay Shore, Long Island.
In her leisure time she found great joy in gardening and the many hours she spent caring for the beautiful flowers around her home. She was also very artistic and enjoyed painting.
To those who knew her, she will always be remembered as a warm, caring and hopeful person who was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family especially her two cherished grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two sons, David Caccavalla and his wife Linda of Nottingham, MD, Kenneth Caccavalla, of Bohemia, LI, one daughter, Dawn Caccavalla and her partner Cynthia of Bay Shore, one sister Phillis Becker and her husband Richard of Mohawk, two granddaughters Candice and Lila, several nieces, nephews and cousins including two nephews Clinton and Richard Becker.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday May 8th at 1:00 pm in the Dennison Corners Cemeterytown of German Flatts. The Reverend Ann Zimmerman, Pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer will officiate. There are no calling hours.
