HERKIMER-Carole E. Shaul, 78, passed away in the company of her family on Saturday 28 December 2013.
She was born in Herkimer, N.Y. on 14 April 1935 to the late Laverne and Edward Eisenlord. Carole graduated from Herkimer High School and received a bachelors degree in education from Albany State University Teachers College in 1955. She married her husband, Richard Shaul the following year, on June 15, 1956.
Carole taught high school math, initially at Holland Patent High School and then for over 30 years at Ilion High School. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family. She enjoyed crafts, baking, traveling, making ceramics, knitting, needlepoint, and playing cards.
Carole is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick), and three sons and their families including five grandchildren. Richard Shaul Jr., his wife Dana and sons Benjamin and Zachary of Bradenton, Florida, Michael Shaul, wife Anne and children Emily, Jake and Olivia of Boulder, Colorado, and David Shaul and partner Gene Litton of Redondo Beach, California. She is also survived by her brother Edward Eisenlord Jr., wife Ann and family of Williamsville, N.Y.
A celebration of life service (for both Carole and Dick) followed by a reception will be held on May 3, 2014 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church in Herkimer. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cure PSP Foundation (www.psp.org).
