Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Carolyn Joan MacBlain, 65, of Little Lakes Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001. She was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Schmidt Krausen. Carolyn was raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of New York City public schools. In 1956, she married Charles G. Albert in Valley Stream, L.I., a loving and devoted union of 39 years until his passing in 1995. For 10 years, Mrs. MacBlain was a clerical worker for the Mirabito Fuel Co., retiring in 1993. On March 18, 2000, she married Ralph MacBlain in New Berlin. He passed away Dec. 7, 2001. Carolyn had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Charles and Joan Albert of Medford, L.I., James and Joan Albert of Meridian, Miss. and Michael and Karen Albert of Selden, L.I.; two stepsons, Ralph F. and his wife Patricia MacBlain of Smyrna and Peter MacBlain and his companion Elaine Long of Richfield Springs; three stepdaughters, Pamela and her husband Richard Brown of South New Berlin, Lisa and her husband Ernie Ward of Jordanville and Shelly Montgomery and her companion Larry Harrington of New Berlin; five grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren; one great-stepgrandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will take place Monday (today) at 4 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs. The family will be present in the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral to receive relatives and friends (3-4 p.m.). Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
