Obituary

HERKIMER-Carolyn J. Harter Moshier age 68 of Lake Street passed away on Thursday morning October 6, 2005 in Valley Health Services Inc. after a long illness. She was born on May 17, 1937 in Mohawk, daughter of the late Edward and Helen Mamrosch Harter. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School class of 1955. On July 25, 1964 she married Wallace E. Moshier in Mohawk. Mr. Moshier preceded her in death on September 29th of this year. For over fifty years she worked as a Legal Secretary in Utica and currently worked for Michael Castle Law Office in Herkimer. Carolyn had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. She was a member of the Polish Community Home where she had served as secretary and the Ilion Women of the Moose where she had served as Senior Regent. Carolyn made so many, special, happy memories for all of her family, especially for her nephews when they vacationed at Indian Lake. She was our sister and aunt who also gave us some of the happiest times. The joy of hearing her laughter leaves us a memory to precious to forget. She is survived by her sister Joan Seifried and husband Glenn of Herkimer, two brothers, Edward Harter and his wife Mary Anne of Endwell, James Harter and his wife Sharon of Mohawk, one niece, Hon. Deborah Jo Harter, six nephews, Eddie Harter Jr., Steven Harter and his fianc Melissa Nordwall all of Endwell, Timothy Seifried and his fianc Kim Keyser of Frankfort, Wayne Seifried of New York City, James Harter II and his wife Rachel of Herkimer, Staff Sgt. David Harter and his wife Lysa of Albuquerque, NM, a grand niece, Alesia Caroselli, three grand nephews, Zachary Harter, Dylan Harter and Nickolas Seifried, several aunts, uncle and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 am in St. Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Memorial donations to the Valley Health Services Inc. Palliative Care Unit, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hospice Inc. and the Palliative Care Unit of Valley Health Services Inc. for the care and compassion shown Carolyn and her family during her illness.
