Obituary

HERKIMER - Catherine Louise Klock, age 69, of Shells Bush Road, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, January 18, 2010, in St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.She was born on November 29, 1940, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Herman and Golda Harlow Congdon. A lifelong area resident, she was raised and educated in Little Falls.On July 5, 1958, she was united in married with Howard F. Buster Klock in Little Falls. They have made their home in East Herkimer since that time. Through the years, Catherine was best known as a caregiver and babysitter for her family and friends.She had a strong belief in God and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer/Little Falls. She was always there and willing to help at church luncheons, dinners and rummage sales. To all who knew her, they will remember a warm smile, friendly manner and an unselfish willingness to help others. To her family, she was the strength and peace maker that kept them together. She was the one they leaned on in times of trouble and the most jubilant to share in their joys. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.Surviving are her devoted husband of fifty-two years, Howard; one son, Alan Howard Klock and his wife, Clara, of East Springfield; twin daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Daniel Raymonda, of Oneida, and Sherry and John James, of Fonda; seven grandchildren, Alexander Klock, Adam Raymonda, Ryan Fureno, Shayla Fureno, Robert Raymonda, Sara James and Delaney Raymonda; two great-grandchildren, Delena and Braxton James; seven sisters, Freda Eaker, of Herkimer, Pearl Brownell, of Little Falls, Florence Benson, of Little Falls, Geraldine Goldstein and her husband, Gerald, of Herkimer, Janet Travis, of Herkimer, Joan Keeler and her husband, Wayne, of Dolgeville, Laura Buhaj and her husband, Mike, of Little Falls; and many nieces, nephews and cousins along with many close friends.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and David Congdon, and a sister, Grace Wells.Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer/Little Falls, with the Reverend Janet Gleason, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place later this spring in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls.The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer/Little Falls. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
