HERKIMER – Catherine Lillian Neria, age 54, formerly of Jordanville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the NE center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury, Lake Katrine. She was born on January 30, 1967 in Hollywood, CA a daughter of the late Albert F. Neria and the late Judith A. (Geyda) Gilmartin. She was educated in Millneck Manor for the Deaf, LI and upon moving upstate she attended the Rome School for the Deaf. Cathy enjoyed the simple things in life. Spending time with family whether it was just sitting around relaxing; going for car rides, or the challenge of a boat ride or camping were happy memories. She especially enjoyed watching her cherishedniece Isabel do her dance routines'. She always said she wanted to live with Isabel on a star. Some of her favorite things to do were watching movies especially the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was her favorite. Stringing beads was a hobby that she found entertaining and just bringing her some M & M's or Oreo cookies and that would brighten her day and bring a big smile to her face. She is survived by her sister Debbie Clements, and her husband Aaron of Herkimer and her niece, Isabel Clements whom she has resided with for many years; a brother, Joe Gilmartin, Jr. and his wife Daniella and nephews, Joseph III and Sammy Gilmartin all of OH; sisters, Jessica Smith and her husband Don of Richfield Springs, Jennifer Walsh and her husband Travis of Laurens, and their children, Tyler and Julianna Walsh, and herstep-father Joseph Gilmartin, Sr. of OH, several, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
