HERKIMER-Catherine Pawlyshyn age 100 of North Washington Street passed away on Wednesday morning June 6, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on March 25, 1907 in Yonkers and was a graduate of Yonkers public Schools. Upon completing high school Catherine with her family moved to Herkimer. On July 16, 1927 she was united in marriage with Myron Pawlyshyn in Herkimer. A devoted union of nearly forty-eight years, until his passing on July 13, 1975.
Mrs. Pawlyshyn had a strong belief in God and was a member of New Life Church & Ministry Center in Herkimer. To her family she will always be remembered as a hard working mother who put her family first and foremost in her life. She was the one who they could lean on in both good times and bad. Catherine was a loving, caring and a hopeful person that will be greatly missed by her family.
Surviving are three sons, John Paulson and his wife Sharon of Clinton, Vincent Pawlyshyn and Daniel Pawlyshyn both of Herkimer, a daughter, Cathy and her husband Jerry Sakowski of Greenville, NC, four grandchildren, Dawn Browning of Republic, MO, Jerry Sakowski of Greenville, NC, Brad Paulson of Clinton, Glenn Paulson of VA, five great grandchildren and two nieces. Besides her parents and husband Myron she was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Pawlyshyn in 1995, a brother, John Filipczuk and a sister, Anna Knierieman.
Funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Joseph R. Jansen, Pastor of the New Life Church & Ministry will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday evening (today) from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the New Life Church & Ministry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
