ILION - Charles Juby, age 63, of Elm Street, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, October 6, 2011, in Little Falls Hospital.
He was born on February 11, 1948 in Boonville, a son of the late Leonard and Marie Turner Juby. Charlie was raised and education in Lowville andgraduated from Lowville Central School with the class of 1967. He was first married to the former Donna Loomis Strong who preceded him in death on July 6, 2001. On August 29, 2003 he married Jessie Brown Doxtater. For over 37 years he worked at Remington Arms, Ilion, retiring in 2006.
Mr. Juby had a strong belief in God and was an active member of the West Schuyler Methodist Church. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting or playing cards with his family and friends, watching NASCAR on television and especially camping at Happy Hollow Camp grounds in the summer. Charlie will be remembered as an easygoing, cheerful and willing man, who was always there to lend a helping hand to others. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and especially his family.
Surviving are his loving wife Jessie of eight years, two sons Wade Juby and his wife Stacie, David Strong and his wife Barbara all of Ilion, two daughters Kirstie Smith and her husband Chad of Mohawk, Wendy Swanson and her husband Robert Swanson of Spring Valley, AZ. Brothers, Thomas and Liz Juby of Castorland, Willie and Debbie Juby of Cazenovia, Davy Juby , Alan and Kathy Juby, all of Rochester, Ronald and Tammy Juby of Lowville, step-brothers, Jeff and Gina French of Ilion, Charles French of Rochester, two sisters Faye Schneider and her husband Fred of Castorland, Barbara Hoch and her husband Joseph of Crogan, ten grandchildren, Nikki, April, James, Gabe, Valerie, Dana, Drew, Dominick, Nate and Danielle, two great-grandchildren, Nora and Trey, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins, his best friend Joe Koslowski many friends at the Happy Hollow Camp Ground and his feline companion, Sheba. Besides his parents and first wife Donna, he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Ielfield.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the West Schuyler Methodist Church. The Reverend Cindy Makarchuk, pastor will officiate.
The family will be present at Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00am until 12:00 noon.
