Charlotte H Griffith's Obituary

HERKIMER-Charlotte H. Griffith age 82 of East German Street passed away on Friday morning October 5, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on August 23, 1925 in Wilkes Barre, PA daughter of the late John and Mabel Emily Vivian Heck. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On March 9, 1945 she was united in marriage with Robert Griffith in Little Falls. A loving and devoted union of forty-five years Mr. Griffith preceded her in death in 1990. Charlottes life was dedicated to her home and family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Outside of her home, she an active member of Colonel Marinus Willett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had served as President, Secretary and was currently on the chapters Executive Committee. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are two sons, Robert Griffith and his wife Jane of Delhi, Richard Griffith of Herkimer, a daughter-in-law, Marsha Griffith of Mohawk, five grandchildren, Angela Lay of Ontario, Catherine Griffith of Buffalo, Sarah Griffith of Oswego, Stephanie Griffith and Stacey Griffith both of Mohawk, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Interment will follow in Mohawk Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
