RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Charlotte Louise Sweet, 79, of Route 20, diedunexpectedly on Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, 2000, in her home.She was born March 14, 1921, in Ilion, daughter of the late Albert V. andGrace I. Jones McCoy. She was raised in Ilion and graduated from Ilion HighSchool. On Nov. 18, 1944, she married Charles A. Sweet in the First PresbyterianManse, Ilion, with the Rev. Paul Wagner officiating. A loving and devoted unionof 55 years, Mr. Sweet passed away on July 18 of this year. She and her husbandhad resided in Richfield Springs since 1944 where she owned and operated theSweet Cabins on Route 20 until 1975. Charlotte enjoyed being outdoors,especially working in her flower gardens. She was a member of the Church ofChrist Uniting, Richfield Springs.Surviving are her son-in-law, Donald J. Morgan, and a grandson, DonaldMorgan, both of Newport; two sisters, Edna DeForest and Florence Richards, bothof Ilion; several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Morgan on July 8, 1999,and two sisters, Grace Stephens and Gladys Capes.Funeral service will be on Friday at 10 a.m. in J. Seaton McGrath FuneralHome, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs, with the Rev. John Young officiating.Interment will follow in Burlington Flats Cemetery.There are no calling hours.Memorial donation may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Squad or the E.W. Corey Hose Co., Middleville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
