Christine E. Hazelton RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Christine E. Hazelton, 78, of Lake Street, passed away on Wednesday morning December 27, 2000 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on September 4, 1922 in Hubel Hollow in the Town of Middlefield, daughter of the late August and Amelia Dezelak Klepey. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Cooperstown High School. In 1944 she came to Richfield Springs from Cooperstown where she married Albert Hazelton on September 13th of that year. Mr. Hazelton preceded her in death. For seventeen years she was a sewing machine operator for the Canajoharie Dress Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Richfield Springs American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving her are three step-sons, Howard Hazelton, Robert Hazelton both of Richfield Springs; Charles Hazelton, of Hawaii, two step-daughters, Rosalie Hazelton of Richfield Springs, Helen Stevens of Kanas; a daughter, Peg Kelley of Richfield Springs; one brother, John Klepey of FL; five sisters, Rose Gage of Bath, Millie Klepey of Fern Park, FL, Stephanie (Pat) Klepey of Columbus, GA, Ann Hise of San Diego, CA, Caroline Studen of Fort Lee, NJ, five grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Funeral service and committal will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Funeral arrangements are with J.
