Christine C. Kennedy, age 52 formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Monday morning September 5, 2016 in Faxton-St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She was born on January 27, 1964, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Frank R. Sr. and Shirley Lincourt Acker. A lifelong area resident she attended schools in Mohawk . Christine was a devoted mother who enjoyed time spent with her family. She found much pleasure in doing for others while looking for nothing in return. Surviving are one son Stephen Shore of Ilion, a daughter Candice Shore of Rome with whom she has resided for the past year, two grandchildren, Cadence and Hunter Smith of Rome, four brothers, Michael Acker and his wife Donna of Richfield Springs, Frank Acker Jr. of Herkimer, Raymond Acker of VA, Nathan Acker of Ilion, one sister, Cynthia Moore of Utica, several nieces, nephews and cousins, Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Edward Acker, three sisters Nancy Acker, Susan Abling and Carol Miner. A Funeral service will be held on Monday September 12th at 2:00 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The family will be present in the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm (one hour prior to the service) to receive relatives and friends. Interment will follow in Mohawk Cemetery.
