RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Christopher John Fulvio Chris age 59 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 20, 2009 in his home after short illness.
He was born on August 10, 1949 in Albany, son of the late Peter and Helena McShane Fulvio. Chris was raised in Springfield Centerwhere he graduated from Springfield Center High School. He continued his education, earning a bachelors degree from Hamilton College and went on to Cornell Universitywhere he received a masters degree in hospitality management. Over the years he worked at resorts in South Carolina, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania But his special fondness for upstate New Yorkand its many lakes made him return to his roots in 2005 where he could enjoy a rural lifestyle.
Mr. Fulvio worked as Manager of Hospitality Services at the Farmers Museum andFennimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, overseeing weddings, special events and food service. He was an expert in wine. To all who knew him, he had many friends at work as well as in the community. He was always willing to pitch in and help out wherever needed and will always be remembered for being a conscientious and dedicated gentleman with a delightfully dry sense of humor.
He had a strong love of the outdoors, in his leisure time Chris enjoyed running, kayaking, golf and cross country skiing. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a sister Leslie Reidy and her husband Jack of Montrose, PA and one niece Erin Osborne of Brighton, England.
A graveside memorial service, with a celebration of his life to follow will take place 11:30am Saturday in Springfield Center Cemeteryat a time to be announced. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
