RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Clara J. Rauscher age 94 formerly of US Highway # 20, in the town of Warren passed away on Saturday morning September 22, 2007 in the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on December 16, 1912 in the town of Springfield, daughter of the late Francis and Julianna Myers Peplinski. A lifelong area resident she was educated in the town of Otsego. On January 14, 1934 she was united in marriage with John R. Rauscher in Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs. A loving and devoted union of sixty years until Mr. Rauschers passing on April 17, 1994. For eighteen years Mrs. Rauscher worked as an inspector for Bendix Aviation in the Aerospace Division retiring in 1968. She had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs. During her retirement years she was an active member of the Richfield Springs Senior Citizens. Clara will always be remembered for her warm smile and friendly manner. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are many nieces including a special niece, Grace Butler of Hendersonville, NC, many nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides her parents and husband John she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and John Peplinski, three sisters, Mary Wichowski, Agnes Hectus, Josephine Smith and a cousin Sophie Sephlinski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am in Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terence Healy will officiate. Mrs. Rauscher will be laid to rest with her husband in Saint Josephs Cemetery at a later time convenient to the family. The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs to receive relatives and friends today (Monday) from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
