MOHAWK - Craig D. Bernier age 24 of Horseshoe Lane passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, May 11, 2011 in Utica.
He was born on June 11, 1986 in Ilion son of Daniel P. and Donna L. Weber Bernier. A lifelong area resident he was a graduate of West Canada Valley High School where he participated in the BOCES Automotive Program. For the past four months he had worked as a mineral handler at Harbor Point Minerals in Utica.
Craig had a strong belief in God and was of the Catholic faith. In his leisure time he enjoyed repairing cars, working with computers and dirt bike racing. He also liked camping, cooking and baking. Craig was a happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family especially his nieces and nephews. To all who knew Craig they will never forget a young man who was full of life, love and laughter. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving parents, Daniel and Donna Bernier of Frankfort, his paternal grandmother Ruth Bernier, his maternal grandmother Eleanor Weber both of Herkimer, his fianc Kayla Jodway of Stratford, three brothers, Daniel Bernier and his wife Kimberly of Fort Plain, Chad Bernier and his wife Wendy of Ilion, Patrick Bernier of Frankfort, two sisters and their husbands, Stacey and Leslie Broadbent of Montverde, FL, Tiffany and Randall Stetson of Greenville, TN, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Craig was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Richard Bernier and his maternal grandfather Douglas Weber.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. The Reverend Leo Potvin will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
