ILION-Curtis G. Yule Bucko, 81 of SouthFourth Avenue, died on Wednesday morning, March 1, 2000 in the VeteransAdministration Hospital, Syracuse after a long illness.
He was bornon February 6, 1919 in Jordanville, son of the late George F. and Mary M. CrimYule. A lifelong area resident, hewas raised in Jordanville and educated in VanHornesville Central School. During World War II he answered the call of country by serving with theUS Army in Panama, Germany and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the American Service Medal, World War II VictoryMedal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
On September 28, 1944 he married Brittie G. Eastin Magnolia, Mississippi, a union that was blessed with ten loving children. He had worked for both the Remington Arms and UNIVAC.
Surviving besides his wife of fifty-five yearsBrittie are six sons; James Curtis and his wife Elizabeth Yule of Church Road,VA, John Martin and his wife Carol Yuleof Lecanto, FL, Donald Eugene and his wife Lynda Yule of Clinton, Mississippi,Joseph Gerald and his wife JoAnna Yule of Plano, TX, Daniel Yule of ColonialHeights, VA, Dr JefferyVincent and his wife Dr. Christiana Yule of Fort Kent,ME, four daughters; Linda L and her husband Robert Jones of LasVegas, NV, CarolONeill of Ilion, Candia and her husband Thomas Keehfus of Jamesville,Catherine and her husband Bruce Wintle of Frankfort, two brothers; Robert Yuleof Millville, PA, Donald Yule of Ocala, FL, three sisters; Ethel Briggs ofOneonta, Edna Smith of Jordanville, Louise Butler of Oneonta, seventeengrandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great grandson Justin Blake Hochman and asister Esther Moyer.
Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 AM inFenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street Herkimer with the Reverend WilliamOtis pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer officiating. Interment will be in Highland Rural Cemetery, Jordanville later thisspring. The family will be presentin the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Members of the Herkimer Veterans Council are asked to meet in the funeralhome at 7:15 PM Friday evening for services.
