HERKIMER - Cynthia Rose Brown age 56 passed away peacefully on Tuesday night May 23, 2017 in her home. She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side.
Cindy was born on March 10, 1961 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Guzik Jouben. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Mohawk and was a graduate of Mohawk High School. She furthered her education at Herkimer County Community College where she received her Associate's Degree. On May 30, 1987 she was united in marriage to Thomas F. Brown in the 1st Baptist Church in Herkimer. For thirty-five years she worked as the Director of Finance for Annese & Associates in Herkimer. Mrs. Brown had a strong faith in God and led a devoted Catholic life. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening around her home, vacationing at their camp at Pine Lake and spending time with her three cherished grandchildren. To those who knew her, she was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt with an unforgettable smile. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.
Surviving are her loving husband of thirty years, Tom, two sons, Thomas J. Brown and his companion Barbara Hartman, Casey P. Brown all of Herkimer, three daughters, Shannon M. Brown and her fianc Michael Wheeler of Poland, Megan H. Corsette and her husband Doug of Victor, NY , Tessa R. Brown and her companion Zachary Schrader of Little Falls, four brothers, Lonny Jouben and his wife Dottie of Mohawk, Joseph Jouben and his wife Dawn of Little Falls, Jim Jouben of Mohawk, John Jouben of Herkimer, three grandchildren, Brandon Schuyler, Jaxson and Jace Wheeler all of Poland, three nieces, Rachel, Abby, and Jenna Jouben, one nephew Joey Jouben and his wife Kayleigh. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister Anne Marie Jouben.
Calling hours for Mrs. Brown will be on Friday (today) from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs with Father Silvaster officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Josephs Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Grandchildrens Educational Fund in care of Thomas F. Brown, 430 Fiddletown Road; Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Tom and the family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Faxton Cancer Center and associates, Dr. Butala and his office staff for the kindness and support shown to Cindy during the past two and a half years. A special thanks to her family away from home, the Annese family and co-workers for over 35 years. She loved you all.
