Mr. Daniel J. Horning, Sr, 83, of Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Wynn Hospital Utica.

Dan was born in Herkimer, on April 20, 1942, the son of the late Charles O. Horning and Marjorie E. Bruce.  Dan was raised and educated locally.  On July 19, 1986, Dan was united in marriage with Jean A. Burroughs, a blessed union of 39 years.  Dan worked as a automobile mechanic retiring from Four Seasons Tire and Auto Center, Ilion.

Mr. Horning is survived by his loving wife Jean, children Diane, CT, Debbie Keeler and her husband John, Mohawk, Daniel J. Horning, Jr and his wife Lori, Ken Schorer and his wife Ashley, Ilion and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Marjorie, stepson Eric L. Horning, brothers Charles and Claude Horning and sisters Betty Marlow and Phoebe Milton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Dan's graveside service September 2, 2025, at St. Mary's Cemetery town of Herkimer, 10AM.
