Daniel Paul Janzen II of Richfield Springs New York, passed away on July 13, 2017. Danny was known for his love of family, the outdoors, snowmobiling, hunting and romping around in the woods with friends and family. His warm smile and hugs will be missed by all. Danny was born November 14th, 1989 in Utica, New York to the parents of Daniel and Elizabeth Janzen. At the age of 3, the family moved to the Dietrich farm in Richfield Springs, New York. Here Danny grew up around a variety of farm animals, rolling hay fields and bountiful woods. As he grew, he and his brothers helped with chores like taking care of the animals and gathering firewood. During Dannys teenage years, he developed a love and aptitude for machinery. If it had wheels and motor, hed find a way to use it for productive purposes as well as pleasure. There were times when hed push the tractor, 4-wheeler, snowmobile or other machine beyond its capacity and something would need to be fixed. This just gave him, his brothers, his dad and his friends a challenge to figure out how to improve it while rebuilding it. Danny loved getting into the outdoors. Exploring the woods, building forts and bombing down the hills on a sled were endless sources of enjoyment. As he grew older, he became a skilled hunter and enjoyed spending deer season with his dad and brother in the woods. He also enjoyed his fishing trips with his brother Matt and Sam out on Canadarago Lake and its tributaries. Danny attended the Richfield Springs school system. After high school Danny worked a variety of jobs and then worked for Twin Rivers Paper company in Little Falls NY and then Lyons Falls NY. Here, he put his skills for working with machinery to great use making specialty paper. Danny is survived by his parents Dan and Elizabeth Janzen, brothers Matthew and Samuel, and his son Grayson; his grandmother Martha Dietrich and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. A service will be held at the Janzen Farm, 228 Hyder Rd. Richfield Springs, NY on Thursday, July 27th at 2:00 PM.
