Daniel J. LattMOHAWK - Daniel J. Latt, age 22, of State Highway 28, passed away on Saturday evening, February 12, 2011, as a result of injuries sustained from a snow mobile accident.
He was born on January 21, 1989 in the town of New Hartford, son of John P. and Cindy Gage Latt.A lifelong resident of Mohawk he graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 2007. He furthered his education at the University of Northwestern Ohio earning a degree as an Auto Technician. For the past two years he had been employed with Steet-Ponti Chevrolet Dealership in Herkimer.
To all who knew him, they will never forget an energetic, hard working and caring young man with an unforgettable smile.He was always there to do for others and never looked for anything in return. He had a great sense of humor and was very social with all of his many friends.In his leisure time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the warm weather, snowmobiling in the winter months and all during year spending time in his garage at home working on trucks. More recently he had taken up golf and found great interest in the challenges that only a golfer knows. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Richfield Springs.To his family, friends and co-workers, he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his parents, Cindy Latt of Mohawk, John P. Latt of Vero Beach, FL, a sister, Stephanie K. Tuthill and her companion Louis M. Reger of Woodbridge, VA, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Victor McKusick, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Ilion will officiate.Interment will take place in Columbia Reformed Church Cemetery later this spring. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.
