HERKIMER - Daniel Pawlyshyn of North Washington Street passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning December 15, 2009 in his home. He was born in Herkimer and was the son of the late Myron and Catherine Wrublewski Pawlyshyn. A lifelong Herkimer resident he was a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1955. Throughout his high school years, Dan was noted for his exceptional athletic ability. He participated in all major sports, football, baseball where he played catcher and basketball where he received the Basloe Award. Mr. Pawlyshyn was a member of the New Life Church and Ministry Center in Herkimer. To his many friends he will always be remembered for his generosity. He was always there for them in both good times and bad. He will be greatly missed by both his friends and family. Surviving him are two brothers, Vincent Pawlyshyn of Herkimer, John Paulson and his wife Sharon of Clinton, a sister, Cathy Sokowski and her husband Jerry of Greenville, NC, two nieces, Brook and Chelsea, two nephews Jerry and Alex and several cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Nicholas Pawlyshyn in 1997. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 4:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Gerald Scott will officiate. Interment will take place next spring in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday two hours prior to the funeral service (2:00 to 4:00 pm). Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the New Life Churchand Ministry Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
