MOHAWK David O. Hight, age 61, of Vrooman Road passed away peacefully on Saturday March 2, 2019 in his home. David was born December 24, 1957 in Herkimer a son to the late Otto L. and Mary June McCaw Hight. He was raised and educated in Mohawk as well as a lifelong area resident. He was a Marine Engineer with the New York State Canal Corporation. For over twenty years, he made sure he did his part to make the canal system operate efficiently, ensuring boaters safe travels through New York. He was a true outdoorsman always looking forward to fishing and deer hunting seasons. In his spare time you may hear him broadcasting on his Ham Radio. David was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving him is his fianc Vivian Ludwigsen, two brothers Douglas and his wife Nancy, Daniel and his wife Terry both of Mohawk, four nephews Daniel T. Hight, Jr. , Douglas DJ Hight, Michael Prusakowski all of Mohawk and Robert Prusakowski of Schuyler, and two nieces Samantha M. Hight and Amanda Edmonds both of Mohawk. Funeral services for Mr. Hight will be private and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to the American Cancer Society.
