HERKIMER-David Parmon age 81 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning March 23, 2008 in Little Falls Hospital. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on January 24, 1927 in Remsen son of the late Kon and Stephania Sarnowska Parmon. David was raised and educated in Remsen and Herkimer. He graduated from Herkimer HighSchool with the class of 1945. On May 10, 1946 he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged attaining the rank of PFC. Upon completion of his military service, he continued his education at Syracuse University, graduating in June of 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He furthered his education at Albany State Teachers College and received his Masters in teaching. Mr. Parmon taught Social Studies in the Poland School System, Tannersville, Green Acres, FL and New Hartford before his retirement in 1990. In his leisure time Dave enjoyed playing golf and tennis. His relaxation time was spent reading. He had a strong belief in God and read his bible daily. He will always be remembered as a generous, non-judgmental gentleman with a warm but dry sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. Surviving are three brothers and their wives, Edward and Joanne Parmon, Harold and Doris Parmon all of Herkimer, William Parmon of Little Falls, five sisters, Stella and her husband the Reverend Harvey Stocker of Orlando, FL, Sophie Valente, Ruth Weber and her husband Warren, Joan Parmon and Elizabeth Parmon all of Herkimer, ,many nieces, nephews and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Adam, Peter, John and Kon Parmon, two sisters, Jennie Ovanna and Elsie Case. A graveside service with military honors will be held later this spring in Mountain View MemorialsGardens, town of Little Falls at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street Herkimer. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Parkinsons Foundation.
