Obituary

HERKIMER - Dephine B.Pratt, 94, formerly of 105 Protection Ave., passed away peacefully February 11, 2000 atValley Health Services, Inc. She was born December 6, 1905, in Prospect, NY, a daughter of the lateWilliam and Christina Ostrander. She received her education in Prospect Schools and wasemployed at the Masonic Home, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer, and alifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had a love for traveling and spoke often of her trip to Greece withher brother Arnold and her motor home trip to Phoenix. She had traveled extensively, livingboth in Alabama and Missouri before returning to New York to raise her family. Failingeyesight, in later years, forced her to forgo her favorite pinochle games but her spiritsremained high. She is survived by her daughter, Janet LaBreche, of East Herkimer andher sons and their spouses, Arthur and Nellie Pratt, of Herkimer and William and MaryPratt of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; also severalnieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Mayme "Dutch" Hendrix of Ilion. Her sister, Dorothy Ostrander, two brothers, William and John"Arnold" Ostrander and two cherished grandchildren, LuAnn Pratt and Jeffery LaBreche predeceased her. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation.Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First UnitedMethodist Church Herkimer. Arrangements are under the direction of Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115Court Street, Herkimer.
