Ilion-Dianne F. Snyder age 67 of Fitzer Drive entered into eternal rest on Tuesday morning August 26, 2003, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on November 21, 1935 in Keesville, daughter of the late Ellery and Mary Martin Perkett. Diane was raised and educated in Ilion. On June 30, 1956 she married Harrison John Snyder in the Ilion Presbyterian Church. Theirs was a loving and devoted union of forty-five years until his passing on March 30, 2002. For many years she and her husband resided on North Washington Street in Herkimer before moving to Ilion in 1994. Dianne was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family. She was especially proud of her grandson Scott. Surviving are her son Scott Snyder of New York Mills, a daughter; Stacey Whaley of Herkimer, three brothers; Rueben Perkett, Robert Perkett of Melbourne, FL, Rendall Perkett of Herkimer, three sisters; Elizabeth Dubay of Ontario, Dawn Broadbent of Dolgeville, Darlene Barrett of Richfield Springs, one grandson; Scott Whaley, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Harrison she was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard and Ranneford Perkett, two sisters; Bertha Ellen OConnell and Gloria Perry. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
